Teen arrested in connection with series of D.C. robberies

WASHINGTON, DC – A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with multiple robberies across Northwest D.C., following a spree of incidents involving armed threats and the theft of victims’ belongings.

On Friday afternoon, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 2000 block of Vermont Avenue, Northwest. The suspect reportedly motioned as if armed, demanded the victim’s money, and used a mobile cash app to transfer funds before fleeing. Police apprehended the suspect shortly after and recovered a handgun at the scene.

Following further investigation, the suspect has been charged with a series of offenses across Northwest neighborhoods, including armed robberies and assaults dating back to December 2024. Detectives believe he is linked to at least seven additional incidents, ranging from armed robbery to assault with a dangerous weapon.
