Teen Arrested in D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Southeast D.C.

The incident happened just after 8 p.m. in the 200 block of 37th Place SE, where a woman was shot as she was getting out of her car. The victim fled the scene and managed to flag down a police officer. DC Fire and EMS treated her on-site for minor injuries.

On Wednesday, police arrested Mekhi Wilkins, 18, of Northwest D.C., charging him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
