Teen Arrested in February Homicide Case

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Departmen has arrested 18-year-old Christian Marte, a resident of 8 Avenue, in connection to the murder of Alfred Johnson, a 42-year-old man in February.

Marte was apprehended on Thursday, at approximately 9:15 PM within the 28th Precinct.

The arrest followed an incident dating back to Saturday, February 11, when police responded to a 911 call reporting a man shot at 2 West 125 Street.

Johnson was found at the scene, having suffered gunshot wounds to his torso and neck. He was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced deceased.

Marte now faces charges of murder, assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a firearm. The NYPD is urging anyone with additional information to reach out to the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
