Teen charged as adult in fatal Druid Park Lake Drive shooting

Baltimore, MD — A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the deadly shooting of a 26-year-old man last month in the city’s Western District, police confirmed Tuesday.

The suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, was arrested on September 7 in connection with the fatal shooting of Davonne Hare, 26, who was gunned down on Friday, August 22, in the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 9:34 p.m. that night. When they arrived, they found Hare suffering from gunshot wounds. Police rendered aid on the scene before Hare was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.

Following weeks of investigation, detectives identified the teen as the suspect. He was taken into custody and booked at the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

No motive or additional suspect information has been released. The case remains under active investigation.
