Teen charged after man dies from head injury in West Baltimore fight

BALTIMORE, MD — A 17-year-old has been charged with involuntary manslaughter following the death of a man who sustained a fatal head injury during a March altercation on Edmondson Avenue, authorities confirmed.

Altercation leads to deadly injury in Western District

Investigators say the incident began as a physical fight between the 17-year-old and 32-year-old Darrius Bunch. During the confrontation, Bunch was knocked to the ground and struck his head, causing a life-threatening injury.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remained under medical care until his death on April 10.

Juvenile suspect charged, placed on monitoring

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested on April 11 and charged as a juvenile with involuntary manslaughter. He was processed at the Juvenile Justice Center and later released to a guardian under home monitoring.
