GLEN BURNIE, MD — A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged as an adult in connection with a March 17 shooting near Crain Highway and Crain Court Circle, where gunfire was directed at three individuals, Anne Arundel County Police announced Thursday.

Gunfire near busy intersection

A search warrant executed at a home in the 300 block of oak manor drive yielded evidence connecting the suspect to the march 17 shooting, as well as additional firearms and a large quantity of drugs.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 4:20 p.m. on March 17. Witnesses reported seeing a man dressed in all black exit an apartment complex and fire multiple rounds at three individuals walking northbound on Crain Highway. The targets fled toward Thelma Avenue and were not located during a subsequent search.

While no injuries were reported, officers found projectile damage in the roadway, and an investigation was launched with assistance from aviation units, K-9 teams, and the Real Time Information Center (RTIC).

Arrest and recovery of firearms, drugs

Following an investigation involving Northern District detectives and Glen Burnie High School’s School Resource Officers, the teen suspect was located near Crain Highway and Aquahart Road on March 28 and taken into custody without incident. A cooperating driver linked to the incident told investigators they were unaware a shooting had occurred.

A search warrant executed at a home in the 300 block of Oak Manor Drive yielded evidence connecting the suspect to the March 17 shooting, as well as additional firearms and a large quantity of drugs. The suspect now faces multiple charges, with more expected as the investigation continues.
