Teen found shot to death behind Holbrook Terrace homes

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Friday evening in the Trinidad neighborhood of Northeast D.C., the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Saturday.

Officers from the Fifth District responded around 6:34 p.m. on May 16 to reports of gunfire behind the 1200 block of Meigs Place NE. Upon arrival, they found a juvenile male unconscious and not breathing, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and EMS attempted lifesaving efforts, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later determined the shooting took place in the rear of the 1200 block of Holbrook Terrace NE.

The victim has been identified as Naquan Johnson, 17, of Northeast D.C.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the homicide. No suspect information has been released.
