BRONX, NY — A 14-year-old girl was injured during a violent robbery in the Bronx last week when an unidentified suspect snatched a chain from her neck and fled, police said.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Thursday in front of 343 East 137th Street, when the suspect approached the teen, forcibly removed her chain and pendant, and took off on foot toward Willis Avenue and East 138th Street, according to the NYPD.

Police said the victim suffered an injury to her left hand but refused medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD released an image of the individual wanted in connection to the robbery and is asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

Authorities have not disclosed the value of the stolen chain and pendant.

“The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted,” officials stated.
