Teen girl arrested in deadly Southeast DC shooting
WASHINGTON, DC – More than three months after a 17-year-old boy was gunned down in Southeast, an 18-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed in connection with the case.
The fatal shooting occurred Saturday, Nov. 8, at approximately 2:56 p.m. in the 1900 block of C Street, Southeast. First District officers responded to reports of gunfire and located a juvenile male conscious and breathing with a gunshot wound.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.
The victim was identified as Tristan Johnson, 17, of Southeast.
On Tuesday, Feb. 24, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant and took 18-year-old Jaylnn Jamison, also of Southeast, into custody. She has been charged with second-degree murder while armed.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
