Teen Shot in Upper Marlboro Dead at Hospital

Upper Marlboro, MD – Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The 19-year-old victim, Stefan Groves, was a resident of Upper Marlboro.

On October 30, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a shooting report in the 13300 block of Burleigh Street. Upon arrival, they found Groves outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives believe this was not a random incident and are currently working to determine a motive and identify any suspects. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
