Teen Shot in Utica Expected to Survive

UTICA, NY – On the night of Wednesday, at around 11:30 p.m., both Utica Police and Fire units were dispatched to Miller St on the 1500 block following reports of a shooting.

A 15-year-old male was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.

He was immediately taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. After undergoing surgery, the young male is now in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Initial findings suggest that the shooting took place on James St’s 200 block, where the victim was targeted.

After being shot, he managed to reach Miller St, where emergency services were alerted.
