Teen Suspect Arrested for Myrtle Beach Murder

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A 17-year-old from Conway has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred late Friday night along the beachfront in Myrtle Beach.

The incident took place at 11:15 p.m. on June 27 near 900 N. Ocean Boulevard. One person was killed and another suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Myrtle Beach police.

The suspect, identified as Evany McCray, has been taken into custody and faces multiple charges including murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and two weapons violations.

Suspect held without bond on most charges

McCray’s bond was denied on the assault charge. Bonds were set at $250,000 each for the two weapons charges. A circuit court judge will determine bond on the murder charge.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims. The investigation remains ongoing.
