ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – A 17-year-old male was arrested by Atlantic City Police after allegedly threatening to shoot his ex-girlfriend and her mother while in possession of a loaded handgun.

Officer Kevin Puca located the vehicle and began speaking with the occupants, identified as the juvenile suspect and his mother. When officers asked the teen to exit the vehicle for further questioning, he became combative and resisted arrest.

Additional officers arrived on scene and assisted in taking the male into custody. A loaded handgun was recovered from underneath the suspect’s seat during a search of the vehicle, according to police.

Suspect charged with multiple weapons offenses

The 17-year-old, a resident of Atlantic City, has been charged with terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a defaced firearm, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.

The Atlantic City Police Department did not release the suspect’s name due to his age.
