PHILADELPHIA, PA — Two people were shot and killed Tuesday evening in what police believe was a robbery connected to the attempted sale of a Rolex watch in Germantown.

According to investigators, officers from the 39th District responded around 5:11 p.m. on December 9, 2025, to reports of shots fired in the 500 block of West Queen Lane.

When police arrived, they found 30-year-old Tyree Ware, of the unit block of Ashmead Place, lying on the roadway beside the open driver’s door of a 2016 silver Nissan Maxima. Ware had been shot multiple times. Officers rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:34 p.m. A 9mm handgun was recovered next to his body.

A second victim, 16-year-old Quaneef Lee, of the 400 block of West Bringhurst Street, was found at the rear of the same vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was also transported to Temple Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:42 p.m.

Preliminary findings suggest that the shooting stemmed from a robbery attempt. Police say Ware had arranged to meet individuals after advertising a Rolex watch for sale online and drove to the location to complete the transaction. Detectives believe the exchange turned violent when the suspects attempted to rob him.

The Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case and working to identify the third individual involved.
