Texas Man Found Dead, Shot Inside His Vehicle in Delaware

WILMINGTON, DE – The Delaware State Police are actively investigating a homicide that occurred on December 9 in Wilmington. A 22-year-old Texas man was found deceased in his vehicle from a gunshot wound.

The incident began around 7:17 p.m. at the Eagle Tobacco Shop, located at 3505 Miller Road. Police received a report of a shooting at this location. Upon arrival, signs of a shooting were evident, but no victims were found at the scene.

Further investigation indicated that the victim was sitting in his vehicle in the shop’s parking lot when a dark-colored SUV arrived. An individual from the SUV fired multiple shots at the victim, who then drove to P.S. Dupont Middle School. The victim’s vehicle crashed through a fence and stopped on the school property, where police later discovered him with a fatal upper body gunshot wound. The assailant fled in an unknown direction.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification. The Delaware State Police urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
