The Next Class of Future Frederick Police Officers Begins at Police Academy

FREDERICK, MD – A new group of cadets has arrived for training at the Frederick Police Academy on their journey to become police officers.

On Monday morning, Mayyor O’Connor, Chief Lando, Captain Hayer, and Chief Grunwell of Brunswick Police Department welcomed the 65th Frederick Police Academy class as they began the first day on their long journey towards becoming police officers.

“The 65th academy class consists of 12 student officers, 8 of whom will be joining the Frederick Police Department following the successful completion of their training. 2 officers will be working for the Annapolis Police Department, 1 will be joining the The City of Brunswick, MD Police Department, and 1 will be joining the Thurmont Police Department,” the agency said today.

Out of 800 applicants these eight future Frederick Police Department officers made the cut after a long and rigorous application and background process.
