Theft of $4k E-bike Leads to Arrest at Alachua County Race Park

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL — A theft was reported at Gatorback Cycle Park, located at 20525 NW 46th Ave, on November 25, 2023. Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies were summoned following a victim’s report of a stolen E-bike, valued at approximately $4,000.

The E-bike, equipped with a tracking device, led deputies to a motor home with an attached trailer, where the stolen item was found.

Upon further investigation, detectives discovered another disassembled stolen E-bike and several mini bikes with altered serial numbers at the scene. All items are believed to have been stolen during the Thanksgiving week event, which attracted a large crowd of race fans and competitors to the area.

The identified stolen property was returned to its rightful owners.
