Thief targeting unsuspecting women in Flushing

QUEENS, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual in connection with a series of grand larceny incidents targeting women in Queens.

The first incident happened on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at around 5:30 pm, when an unknown individual took a 31-year-old woman’s purse from her stroller without permission at 39-12 Main Street. The purse contained credit cards and $300. The suspect fled the scene on foot towards Roosevelt Avenue.

The second incident took place on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at approximately 1:45 pm, when an unknown individual took a 30-year-old woman’s phone from her bag without permission at 42-28 Main Street. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The third and most recent incident occurred on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at around 1:20 pm, when an unknown individual took a 50-year-old woman’s cell phone without permission near the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Main Street. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a 40-year-old female with a light complexion, weighing approximately 160 pounds, and standing between 5’2″ to 5’3″ tall.
