Three New Jersey Trails Among Nation’s Top 150 for New Year’s Day Walks

PRINCETON, NJ – A recent survey by Sustainable Jungle identified the top 150 nature walks for New Year’s Day in the U.S., with three trails from New Jersey making the list.

The poll surveyed 3,000 families to determine the most popular New Year’s Day nature walks. Sourland Mountain Preserve Trails, Princeton Nursery Lands, and Round Valley Recreation Area were among the favorites.

Sourland Mountain Preserve Trails, ranked 37th, are located in central New Jersey. They offer the Maple Flats Trail, a 1.2-mile easy loop through hardwood forests.

Princeton Nursery Lands, at number 88, provides a 1.5-mile easy hike through Mapleton Preserve. This family-friendly hike concludes with hot cocoa.

Round Valley Recreation Area, ranking 147th, features a three-mile trail of easy to moderate difficulty, requiring adult accompaniment for children and prior registration.
