Toddler Critically Injured by Fallen Tree in Montgomery County

GLENSIDE, PA—A tragic accident occurred on Saturday evening when a 2-year-old child was critically injured by a fallen tree in Montgomery County. The incident took place just after 6 PM in the driveway of a residence on the 7900 block of Chandler Road in Glenside.

The toddler, who was playing outside with other children, was struck by a tree that unexpectedly fell from a distance of 50 feet. Emergency responders provided lifesaving care at the scene, and the child was subsequently airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Due to the severity of the injuries, the child required an amputation of their arm.

Cheltenham police, who are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, have described the event as a tragic accident. They urge anyone with information about the incident or witnesses to come forward.
