Toms River East Little League won the New Jersey Section 3 championship to advance to the New Jersey Little League state championship tournament. TRELL defeated Sunnybrae Little League 3-0.
Toms River East Little League made headlines in 1998 when Major Leaguer Todd Frazier lead the team to a Little League World Series Championship.
