Toms River Police Warn Residents of Route 571 Paving, Roadway Hazard

The Toms River Police Department is notifying the public of a roadway hazard on Bay Avenue (Route 571) eastbound near the Ocean County Mall in Toms River.

The issue arose due to a mechanical problem with a paving machine, resulting in a transition from the fresh asphalt to a milled section of the road, creating a drop in that specific area. To warn drivers, an orange “BUMP” sign has been placed to indicate the problematic spot. A repair operation is scheduled to take place this evening.
