Toms River To Invest $1 Million in Ice Rink Improvements

TOMS RIVER-The Toms River Township Budget in 2020 calls for almost $1,000,000 in upgrades and purchases at the Winding River Ice Rink.  In the budget, proposed by Mayor Maurice Hill, the township will be purchasing a new chiller for the old outdoor rink, replacing safety netting, replacing rubber flooring around the facility, a new Zamboni and new tools.

The Zamboni will cost $130,000 and the new chiller will cost $500,000.    To replace the rubber matting around the rink, the town is looking at a $118,000 price tag.

Most of the purchases are for capital repairs and improvements at the aging outdoor rink.
