Tractor Trailer Collides With School Bus in Monmouth County

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, NJ – A major traffic accident involving a school bus and a tractor trailer occurred on State Highway 18 South in Marlboro Township on Tuesday, at approximately 3:03 p.m. The collision resulted in the overturning of the tractor trailer and a significant fuel spill.

The school bus, at the time of the incident, was only occupied by the driver. The driver of the tractor trailer sustained injuries and was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

The impact and subsequent fuel spill led to the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes of Route 18 for several hours.

The crash scene witnessed a coordinated response from various departments, including the Marlboro Township Police Department and the Department of Transportation.
