Traffic Stop in Calvert County Leads to Firearm Seizure

SAINT LEONARD, MD – Maryland State Police arrested Anthony Jerome Hill, 43, and Anayah Ann Battle, 40, both of Washington, D.C., following a traffic stop early Sunday in Calvert County.

The stop occurred around 12:20 a.m. near Route 4 and Lancaster Drive in Saint Leonard.

During the stop, troopers noticed a loaded handgun between the center console and the driver’s seat.

A second loaded firearm was found in a purse during a subsequent search of the vehicle.

Both Hill and Battle were taken into custody and face charges of illegal possession of a firearm. They have been processed at the Calvert County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
