AMSTERDAM, NY – State Police from Troop G, Zone 3 are currently present at the site to assist the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in handling a train car derailment involving 16 cars.
As a result of the incident, State Route 5 in Amsterdam, NY, has been temporarily closed to facilitate cleanup and removal operations. Authorities are actively working on resolving the situation; updates will be provided as the situation develops.
