Triple Shooting in Newark Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

Newark, NJ : One person died and two others sustained injuries in a triple shooting on Avon Avenue in Newark on Friday afternoon. The incident took place at 5 p.m., according to Thomas Fennelly, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Two victims were taken to a nearby hospital, while one victim declined medical attention.

The fatality was pronounced the following morning. The deceased victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of kin. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force is leading the investigation.
