Washington, D.C.- A triple shooting on Tuesday afternoon in Southeast D.C. left three women injured, sparking a search for a suspect described as wearing a GPS monitoring device.

The shooting occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the 2900 block of Nelson Place in Southeast. The victims were conscious and breathing when first responders arrived. Details on their conditions have not yet been released. Police are looking for a short, heavyset man last seen in khaki pants and a white shirt. The suspect was noted to have a GPS monitoring device on his ankle.

The public is advised to call 911 upon sighting the suspect and not to engage with him. A significant police presence continued in the area for hours, with detectives active around a corner building.
