Trump trolls booker after nj senator drops out of presidential race

NEWARK, NJ-Cory Booker has announced he will suspend his campaign for President of the United States after running at the bottom of the pack for the past year.

President Donald J. Trump didn’t take any time to mock Booker whose campaign and term in office has been the butt of jokes across America.

“Really Big Breaking News (Kidding): Booker, who was in zero polling territory, just dropped out of the Democrat Presidential Primary Race. Now I can rest easy tonight. I was sooo concerned that I would someday have to go head to head with him!” Trump said.

Booker said even though his bid for President failed before it could get off the ground, he won’t stop fighting everything Trump.

“I will carry this fight forward–I just won’t be doing it as a candidate this year,” Booker said.

Now, after spending years away from his home state of New Jersey, Booker has another challenge before him. His own party has launched a primary challenger, Lawrence Hamm, a staunch Bernie Sander supporter and longtime Newark activist. Hamm noted Booker’s withdrawal from the race.

Another person who probably won’t be losing any sleep tonight is Hirsh Singh, Booker’s Republican challenger. Booker will have to get through Hamm in the Democrat primary before he becomes Singh’s problem.

“It’s with a full heart that I share this news—I’m suspending my campaign for president,” Booker said. “To my team, supporters, and everyone who gave me a shot—thank you. I am so proud of what we built, and I feel nothing but faith in what we can accomplish together.”

Booker will have to now shift focus on the upcoming New Jersey Democrat primary and his race against Hamm, but he has already depleted most of his campaign funds.
