Armed robbery in Chinatown ends fast with two suspects busted and guns recovered

Washington, DC — A robbery involving two armed suspects in Chinatown was quickly shut down after officers tracked down and arrested both men within minutes of the incident.

Police responded around 8:00 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of H Street Northwest for reports of an armed robbery.

Investigators said the two suspects approached victims while displaying firearms. The victims fled the scene, leaving behind a speaker, which the suspects took before attempting to escape.

Officers quickly broadcast descriptions of the suspects, leading to a coordinated search in the area. Both individuals were located and taken into custody nearby.

Authorities recovered two firearms along with the stolen speaker.

The suspects were identified as 35-year-old Johnathan House of Southeast, DC, and 33-year-old Tony Jones of Northwest, DC. Both were charged with armed robbery involving a gun and carrying a pistol without a license.
