WASHINGTON, DC — A dramatic carjacking turned multi-agency vehicle pursuit ended with the arrest of two suspects after they allegedly stole a car at gunpoint in Northeast last week.

Around 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, a victim was confronted by two individuals while exiting a vehicle in the 1300 block of E Street, Northeast. One of the suspects displayed a firearm and demanded the victim’s belongings before fleeing the scene in the stolen car.

The suspects were quickly tracked with help from surveillance and aerial units. MPD’s Real Time Crime Center coordinated with the department’s helicopter, Falcon 1, and shared information with Prince George’s County Police.

A short time later, Prince George’s officers located the stolen vehicle and followed it back into the District, initiating a pursuit that ended in the 2000 block of Bruce Place, Southeast. Officers from both jurisdictions closed in on the suspects and took them into custody without incident.

Authorities identified the suspects as 19-year-old Jabari Brown of Northwest DC and a 15-year-old male from Suitland, Maryland. Both face charges of Armed Carjacking (Gun).
