Two arrested for Fatal Road Rage Shooting of Woman in Essex

ESSEX, MD – Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Shalia Hendrix, according to homicide detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department. The shooting took place on May 5 in the vicinity of Route 702 and Marlyn Avenue

Although the incident was initially reported as a motor vehicle crash, responding officers discovered Hendrix inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound.

She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.

On May 17, Baltimore County Police Department members took 29-year-old Rylan Harris and 28-year-old Darashea Gross into custody regarding the homicide of Hendrix.

Harris has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm charges.

Gross has been charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation indicates that the incident was an isolated occurrence rooted in a road rage incident. Currently, both suspects are being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
