STAMFORD, Conn. — Two men have been arrested in connection with the October 2024 shooting death of 59-year-old Angel Samaniego at the Super 8 Hotel in Stamford, police announced.

Moises Alejandro Candollo-Urbaneja and Gregory Marlyn Galindez-Trias have been charged with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor. Each is being held on a $7 million court-set bond.

The arrests follow a detailed investigation by the Stamford Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit. Authorities said the case involved extensive forensic analysis of both digital and physical evidence.

Samaniego was fatally shot at the Super 8 Hotel on October 13, 2024. Details of the motive and the connection between the suspects and the victim have not been disclosed.

Multi-agency investigation

The Stamford Police Department credited the Detroit Police Department, Rensselaer Police Department, and the FBI for their assistance in the investigation, along with support from the Stamford State’s Attorney’s Office.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” the department stated, encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact Sgt. Luis Serna at 203-977-4417 or submit anonymous tips via text to tip411.
