ATLANTA, GA – The indictment of Anthony Charles Holmes and Jameesha Monique Harris was announced by Attorney General Chris Carr. The charges include Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude, Trafficking in Cocaine, and related drug and weapons offenses. A 16-year-old victim was rescued in August following an operation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, and the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit.

Carr highlighted the collaborative effort in the case. “This recovery and indictment send a clear message about Georgia’s stance against human trafficking,” he stated. Greene County Sheriff Donnie Harrison and Taliaferro County Sheriff Tia McWilliams emphasized their commitment to combating human trafficking.

GBI Director Chris Hosey reaffirmed the HEAT Unit’s dedication to investigating such crimes.

The Greene County Grand Jury indicted Holmes and Harris on October 31. The Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit presented the case, leading to the charges.
