Stamford, CT Marcus Watson, 37, was taken into custody after a brief foot chase occurred near West Main Street and Rose Park Avenue. In his possession, officers discovered 3.8 grams of crack cocaine. Following Watson’s arrest, Caleb Newell, 29, hurried to Watson’s residence.
Officers later found Newell with a loaded Ruger .22 caliber handgun as he attempted to escape in a vehicle frequently used by Watson. Watson is facing charges including criminal possession of a firearm and narcotics. As he is on special parole until 2028, his parole officer remanded him to custody.
Caleb Newell also faces charges related to firearm possession and weapons violations. Both Watson and Newell have court appearances scheduled for Wednesday, October 18.
The Stamford Police Department underscored its ongoing commitment to maintaining public safety. Contributions from the Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad, K9 Unit, and uniformed officers were acknowledged for their efforts in the apprehension.
