Two Dead in North Jersey Nursing Home Shooting

Hackensack, NJ – A shooting occurred Saturday morning at a nursing home in Hackensack, claiming the lives of two elderly individuals.

The Hackensack Police Department responded to a 911 call before 9 a.m., discovering the lifeless bodies of a 73-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Authorities from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hackensack Police Department have initiated an investigation into the shooting.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and no further details regarding the cause of the shooting have been disclosed at this time.

No arrests have been made, an no suspects have been announced as police have released few details regarding the shooting.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Chief Jason Love, is working alongside the Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Michael Antista, to uncover the circumstances surrounding this incident.
