NEW YORK, NY – A 5-alarm fire was reported in the South Richmond Hill section of New York City Friday afternoon. In the aftermath, the bodies of two people were found in the debris.

The fire was reported at around 1:30 pm and, within an hour, was upgraded to a five-alarm blaze. The fire was raging by the time firefighters arrived and spread quickly through the tightly packed homes.
