Two Injured in Utica Shooting Incident

UTICA, NY – A shooting incident in Utica early on January 1 led to two individuals sustaining gunshot wounds. Utica Police and Fire personnel were dispatched at approximately 5:45 a.m. to the intersection of Court St and Whitesboro St following a report of a shooting assault.

Upon arrival, responders found a female victim with a gunshot wound to her arm. It was determined that an altercation between her and several other parties had escalated, resulting in her being shot. Additionally, a second victim, a male, reportedly injured in the same incident, was not present at the scene.

The female victim was transported to Wynn Hospital by Utica Fire Department personnel. Concurrently, as the investigation unfolded, reports emerged of another individual with a gunshot wound on Faxton St. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that this male victim was likely the second party shot at the original scene. He was also transported to Wynn Hospital with leg injuries.
