Two injured in Utica shooting; police investigating

UTICA, NY — Utica police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 9:30 p.m. Monday on the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert detected multiple gunshots.

Officers arrived to find several shell casings and located a victim near the intersection of Eagle Street and Seymour Avenue. The victim was transported to Wynn Hospital, where authorities learned that a second victim had arrived at the hospital after self-transporting.

Police said the victims’ injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
