Two killed in suspected DUI crash on Cross Street in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, N.J. — Two people were killed in a car crash late Saturday night in Lakewood, with investigators probing whether drunk driving played a role in the fatal collision.

It has been confirmed that the second death occurred early Sunday, hours after authorities initially reported one fatality. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly before midnight, where two vehicles were involved in what officials described as a severe accident.

Crime Scene Investigation units and detectives were dispatched to the area, and a large section of the roadway was closed off during the response.

Officials have not released the names of the victims.
