Two people found dead hours apart in Rockville, police investigating

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County police are investigating two separate deaths that occurred just hours apart Friday morning in Rockville, with one body found at a hotel and the other inside a vehicle nearby.

The first discovery was made around 7:40 a.m. in the parking lot of the Sleep Inn Hotel on Research Court. Officers with the Rockville City Police Department responded to reports of a deceased individual in the lot. It remains unclear whether the person was a guest at the hotel.

Later that morning, police discovered another deceased person inside a BMW located in the middle of Shady Grove Road, about half a mile from the hotel. Detectives have not confirmed any connection between the two incidents.

The investigations remain active, with Montgomery County detectives processing both scenes. Crime scene tape was placed around the parking lot of the Sleep Inn Hotel as officers worked to gather evidence.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased or provided details about the circumstances of their deaths.
