Two Shot, One Dead at New Castle Car Meet

NEW CASTLE, DE – An early morning gathering of car owners took a tragic turn on Sunday.

Delaware State Police are now investigating a homicide and another injury at an unsanctioned car meet.

At around 2:00 a.m., troopers were called to the scene at the Delaware Logistics Center, 2421 Bear Corbitt Road, where they discovered a 17-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds.

The young man was rushed to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The name of the teenager is being withheld until family notification.

A 21-year-old male was also found with a gunshot wound to his foot and is in stable condition.

The investigation thus far has shown that a significant crowd had assembled for the car meet. During the event, a confrontation between the two victims led to the gunfire. Following the shooting, the crowd dispersed, and the perpetrators fled.
