Two Shot While Riding Bicycles in Utica Drive-by Shooting

UTICA, NY – On Tuesday, two individuals were shot as they were riding their bikes in the area of Lansing Street and Jefferson Avenue.

According to the Utica Police Department, at around 9:07 pm, officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of the 900 block of Nichols Street, Utica.

“When police officers arrived, they learned that two males were shot at while riding their bicycles in the area of Lansing Street and Jefferson Avenue in a drive-by shooting,” the department said. “Fortunately neither person was injured.”

Police officers recovered four spent shell casings in the roadway of the 800 block Jefferson Avenue. The suspect vehicle was described as an SUV, white in color. The vehicle left the scene traveling southbound on Jefferson Avenue.
