Two Teen Shoplifters Captured in Stolen Car After Pursuit in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – Delaware State Police have apprehended three juveniles following multiple shoplifting incidents and a pursuit in a stolen vehicle in Rehoboth Beach.

At around 3:19 p.m., troopers were alerted to a shoplifting incident at Under Armour in the Tanger Bayside Outlets, Rehoboth Beach.

In a tan Chevrolet Cruze with a fictitious Pennsylvania registration, the suspects fled the scene northbound on Coastal Highway. A trooper spotted the vehicle near Melson Road and attempted a traffic stop, but the Chevrolet ran a red light and accelerated away. The chase ended when the vehicle struck another while trying to turn onto Dartmouth Drive.

The driver, a 16-year-old male, and two 15-year-old passengers, all from Claymont, Delaware, attempted to flee on foot but were captured without further incident. Investigations revealed they had stolen over $5,000 in merchandise from Under Armour, Nike, and The North Face. Additionally, the Chevrolet was confirmed stolen on October 14, 2023.

The juveniles face numerous felony charges.
