WOODBRIDGE, VA – Detectives in Prince William County have arrested two 18-year-old men in connection with the fatal shooting of a Fredericksburg resident earlier this month.

On September 13, officers were called to the 13700 block of Telegraph Road around 7 p.m., where they found 35-year-old David Kapay Kallo suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 27-year-old man, fled to a nearby restaurant and was later hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said Kallo had been in a physical altercation with two suspects before being shot as he tried to walk away. The second victim was struck inadvertently during the exchange.

Detectives identified the suspects as Jordy Lopez Campos, 18, of Woodbridge, and David Omar Benitez Martinez, 18, of Dumfries. Campos was arrested on September 16 at a home on Culpeper Drive in Woodbridge. Benitez Martinez was taken into custody on September 19 at a residence on Hampstead Ridge Court in Dumfries. Narcotics and multiple firearms were recovered during the arrests.

Campos is charged with murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Benitez Martinez is charged with four counts of principal in the second degree in the commission of a felony. Both are being held without bond pending court dates.
