Two teens arrested on gun charges in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Two teenage male suspects were arrested, resulting in the seizure of two handguns by Atlantic City police officers on Sunday.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, at around 1:15 pm officers responded to the 100 block of North Maryland Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert.

“Responding officers arrived to locate a crime scene in the area and several witnesses that said they observed the shooting and several juveniles running from the area,” the ACPD said in a statement.

Their investigation led police to the backyard of home on Baltic Avenue where two armed juveniles were suspected to be.

As a precaution, police blocked off the area and set up a perimeter. The Atlantic City SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team arrived on site and cleared the home. The two suspects, aged 17 and 15 were found inside.

They were both arrested and charged with multiple firearms charges and aggravated assault.
