Two Teens Charged for Carjacking in Absecon

ABSECON, NJ – A man was assaulted and nearly carjacked at Absecon Bulkhead/Faunce Landing Park, leading to the arrest of two teenagers.

At approximately 4:55 PM, a 57-year-old was attacked while reading in his car at the park. The assailants, a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, attempted to steal the vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with the man. Although the victim managed to retain his car keys, he sustained injuries during the struggle.

The Absecon Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division reviewed surveillance footage that led to the swift identification and capture of the two suspects.

Charges against the juveniles include 1st Degree Carjacking and Assault. Both have been placed in a juvenile detention facility following their arrest.
