Two Teens Charged for Gun, Weed During Routine Traffic Stop in Hanover

HANOVER, MD – Police arrested Deonta Hunter, 19 and Lamont Crosell, 19, during a routine traffic stop after finding drugs and a gun in the vehicle.

According to police, on Wednesday, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment and registration violations in the area of Annapolis Road and Newmanstown Drive in Hanover.

“As officers approached the vehicle, they were met by the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers found a tan, semi-automatic handgun inside a bag within the passenger compartment,” the Anne Arundel Police Department reported. “In addition to the handgun, officers found approximately 32 grams of suspected marijuana. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged accordingly.”
