New York City, NY – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a series of robberies that occurred across various locations in New York City. The arrests were made on Sunday, June 4, and the suspects have been charged accordingly.
The first individual taken into custody is a 16-year-old male, whose identity remains undisclosed due to legal restrictions. He has been charged with robbery.
The second arrestee has been identified as 18-year-old Rodney Arzu, residing at 165 Saint Anns Avenue, Bronx, NY. Arzu has also been charged with robbery.
Police tied the teens to three confirmed incidents in May.
A Black 2011 Mercedes with the New York license plate KWX7341 was stolen from in front of 749 East 133 Street. The vehicle had been left unattended and running. The owner, a 40-year-old male, discovered his car missing upon his return. The four unidentified individuals responsible for the theft fled in an unknown direction.
A 66-year-old male was assaulted at 302 West 21 Street by four individuals. The attackers repeatedly punched and kicked the victim before forcibly taking his iPhone 6 and wallet, which contained credit cards. The victim sustained lacerations to his left hand but declined medical attention.

Four individuals entered a location at 584 8th Avenue. One of the suspects simulated possessing a firearm by mimicking it with his hand in his pocket. Meanwhile, the other individuals went behind the counter and stole smoking paraphernalia. Three of the suspects managed to flee the scene, while one was apprehended by law enforcement.
The NYPD urges anyone with information on the remaining suspects or any additional details that may aid the investigation to come forward and assist in resolving these cases.
