Two Women Robbed at Gunpoint, Assaulted at Casa Azul Hotel

NEW YORK, NY – An unidentified man forced his way into a Casa Azul Hotel room, brandished a BB gun, and assaulted two women before fleeing with a stolen cellphone.

The incident took place on Sunday, September 10, inside Casa Azul Hotel at 220-16 Jamaica Avenue. According to reports, the suspect knocked on a hotel room door where a 42-year-old female and a 39-year-old female were staying. After the 42-year-old opened the door, the individual forced his way in and displayed a BB gun. He placed the 42-year-old in a chokehold and took her Samsung Galaxy cellphone. Additionally, the suspect used pepper spray on the 39-year-old woman.

The 42-year-old sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene. The 39-year-old suffered nonlife-threatening facial injuries and was transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital in stable condition.The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’8″ tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a medium complexion and build, and black hair and facial hair. His last seen attire included a white t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
